To join our team, you'll need to meet the following requirements. Don't worry if you don't have all licences yet – we can help you obtain them.
- Full UK Driving Licence (held for minimum 3 years)
- Northampton Borough Council Private Hire/Hackney Licence (or willing to obtain)
- DBS Check (we can assist with this)
- Right to work in the UK
- Good knowledge of Northampton and surrounding areas
- Excellent customer service skills
- Smart, professional appearance
- Reliable and punctual
If you don't have your Private Hire or Hackney Licence yet, don't worry. We can guide you through the process of obtaining all necessary documentation from Northampton Borough Council.

- We do not accept Wolverhampton badges or Wolverhampton-plated vehicles.
- A temporary 4-digit callsign is assigned automatically and can be changed by the office later.
- Your private hire badge number and expiry date.
- Your vehicle registration, plate number, and insurance expiry.
- Digital copies of your badge paperpart, vehicle plate paperpart, and insurance certificate.
- Your preferred start date and contact details.
